Any Android phone running version 7.0 or newer. The app is deliberately light so it runs smoothly on entry-level phones with limited storage.
HMPL is on Android today. If your team uses iPhones, message us on WhatsApp — we will tell you the current status and the web access options available to you.
Registering your hostel takes about two minutes. Adding rooms, beds and fee plans usually takes another ten. If you prefer, send us your existing data and our team sets it up for you free of cost.
Yes, and it is free as part of the launch offer. Share your Excel file or clear photos of your register on WhatsApp. We import students, rooms and pending dues, then show you the result for approval.
Yes. HMPL is multi-user. Invite your warden, accountant or manager and give each of them a role. Everyone works in the same hostel account at the same time.
Yes. Role permissions let you decide exactly who sees collections and expenses, who can only mark attendance, and who can edit student records. Owners see everything; others see what you allow.
Your data is stored on encrypted cloud infrastructure with automatic daily backups. Only users you invite can open your hostel, and you can remove their access at any time.
Nothing is lost. Install HMPL on the new phone, log in, and everything is exactly where you left it, because your data lives in the cloud and not on the handset.
HMPL is designed for weak and patchy networks and syncs as soon as you are back online. A working connection is still recommended for receipts, reminders and reports.
Parents receive the updates you choose to send — attendance, fee receipts and notices. They do not get access to your hostel data or other students' information.
You can record payments received by cash, UPI, cheque or bank transfer, and HMPL generates the receipt automatically. Ask us on WhatsApp about the current in-app payment options for your account.
Yes. Record a part payment and the balance stays visible against that student, with due dates and overdue days shown clearly in the dues list.
Yes. Manage multiple hostels or blocks, move students between them, and see both consolidated and hostel-wise reports. Multi-hostel pricing is quoted together — ask us for a number.
Nothing breaks and nothing is deleted. Message us and we will raise the limit for your hostel. Larger hostels and chains are handled case by case, so talk to us rather than guessing at a price.
Share the referral code from your app with another hostel owner. They register with it and start free straight away, we set their hostel up for them, and your referrals go to the front of our support queue. Every code you share is tracked inside the app.
